We’ll meet you at the desired location in Roseburg around 6:00 a.m. We’ll gear-up and head out to the location for fishing on the North Umpqua River. Typical drive times range from an hour to about one and a half hour. After parking we hike from about 30 minutes to about an hour. If you are a beginner, I will give instructions on casting first, and you will need to practice for at least half an hour.
I bring a hearty riverside lunch, refreshments and about 6-7 hours of hiking and fishing.
Overnight Camping Fly Fishing Packages
The best way to experience and enjoy backcountry fly fishing (hike & wade) is coming to the upper North Umpqua in the morning and camping for at least two nights. This is our recommendation. You will gain plenty of local knowledge about the water, hatches and techniques not to mention continually covering new water and fish.
You will also leave hustle and fast pace of the modern world behind. Have you heard of the three-day effect? It’s been proven that on the third day your mind will be recalibrated, restored, and you will perform better in creative problem-solving.
